Vienna Ashley-Watts

Vienna is a BLM activist and Co-Founder of BLM Taunton with a background in Youth and Support work. She moved to Taunton when she was in primary school and enjoyed performing arts, specifically theatre and acting. She was involved in many multi-cultural projects due to her mother being prominent within the race equality sector in Taunton. She embraced and celebrated diversity!
Being inspired by those around her she grew empowered to seek out and fight for positive change, equality and justice. Becoming involved with organisations such as GLADE, GYA and Somerset Racial Inclusion Project.
She moved to London for a few years and then returned to Taunton. After some time spent as a resident at the YMCA, she made the most of the experience by volunteering as a youth worker, organising resident meetings to encourage them to do the same thing and spoke many times at events and conferences.
Ending her time as a resident by being employed by the YMCA as a youth worker.
In her spare time she works at bringing awareness of Black inequality and racism in not only Somerset, but the UK by delivering talks and working with organisations to elevate Black voices.
Much Love Ladies,
Vienna
