Indian Dance and Drumming – Westwood Room
Avtar, dressed in his authentic, colourful costume, will demonstrate the joyful dance styles of Bollywood and Bhangra and some drumming rhythms which accompany the dances.
Workshop attendees will then have the opportunity to participate in all activities – dressing-up to add colour and sparkle, learning some dance steps and drumming rhythms.
The session will close with a short summary of ‘discoveries’ made.
Printmaking – Creative Hub
Jenny and Liz will share some nationally and internationally acclaimed artists’ work as well as local artists’ work in the field of Print-making. They will demonstrate the basic skills involved in creating a printing block and repeat printing. Workshop attendees will create their own printing block using easi-print material and experience first-hand, the thrill of creating a sharp, clear repeat print.
Where appropriate, these skills can be developed into over-printing techniques, changing background colours and textures to create a more sophisticated result. The session will end with a short summary of ;discoveries’ made.
